Askasa,

Do you know anyone with those qualities who is campaigning for the Presidential elections?

If you do or know anyone who has those qualities maybe we can push him for 2012 or even 2016???

Regards

Ashish.

I think someone with a range of experience, along with an inherently innovative spirit and the strength of character to stand by his/her beliefs is the ideal candidate for office. Now if we could only find one...

Broadway,

Maybe I phrased things incorrectly here.

Here's a thought -Politicians should have a range of experience(both Public and Private) doing something really constructive before running for the White House.

Does that work?

What do you think about this issue now?

Regards

Ashish.

The whole elected leader as business executive is a myth that the business leaders use to attack politicians that they don't and so they say, that guy doesn't have enough biz experience. How dare he raise corporate taxes and regulation!

Broadway,

Not a novel thought. But it works.

Improvisation of leaders is essential today but the only issue is for that the leaders need to have a worked in full-scale commercial/capitalistic environment.

How many politicians/republican candidates can lay claim to that issue today?

Ashish.

I would've thought the new guard is cut from the same cloth, but I'll agree the political theater has been ratcheted up to a dazzling pitch.  Shock and awe brought home, really.

Heinrich, you're thinking of traditional republicans, the ones from the old boys' network at the country club and from Wall. St. and Big Oil. You are failing to take into account the effect that the social conservatives and the Tea Partiers have had on the Republican party. They don't want capitalists anymore, they want "patriots" who will sign anti-tax pledges and promise to kill the Fed and uphold every single letter of the constitution, including a fetus' right to life and the LGBT community's right to go back undercover.

Republicans tend to view "leaders" as proven capitalists, the way Ayn Rand did.  Successful political candidates on the other hand tend to be cheerleaders for those leaders, and champions of their causes in the military sense.  As a result, expect Republican, and to a great extent Democratic, holders of office to follow a very narrow script.

Change isgiven in history, but seems to be accelerating nowadays. It is why it is more important than ever to have leaders who can improvise and innovate, who are NOT dictating by partisan dogma and "pledge".

Scott,

I know why you are worried[Looking at things from a historical perspective there is plenty of reason to be worried].But right now is not the time to worry but to be prepared for this eventual and momentous change.

When the change does happen we don't want to be caught completely unawares.

Regards

Ashish.
