Sing a Song of Marvin Kitman

In 1964 Marvin Kitman ran for president.....

...He lost!

During his campaign he recorded The Official Kitman Campaign Record...

...It too, was lost!

...Until now!

It began as a 12-inch longplay album...
Then Kitman went to the Republican Convention
in San Francisco.
It became a 10-inch longplay album...
Then Kitman went to the Democratic Convention
in Atlantic
City.
Finally it became a 7-inch longplay record...
Now you can hear it before it disappears completely!

“It's my record, but I won't stand on it,” said Marvin Kitman, the Lincoln candidate for President when this very album was handed to him in a simple but moving ceremony. . “I wanted all my constituents to have a record of my record, and this is it. You'll find much in these grooves to inspire you and help you find the inner strength you need to face these often troubled times. As the man says, ‘Listen good, the bell is tolling for you.’ ”

THE KITMAN CAMPAIGN SONG: Sing A Song Of Marvin Kitman
An on-the-spot recording. The Kitman Kids, who sang this song during a demonstration at the Cow Palace in 1964, were put on the spot by San Francisco police for gathering in the aisles without permission.
Now it's been beautifully restored  and digitally re-mastered,  in glorious Mono, with many of the original pops, clicks and hiss, along with the flattening of dynamic range to give you that true LP experience.

Music and lyrics by Avery Corman

Sing a song of Marvin Kitman
sing it loud and sing it clear
Sing a song of Mar-vin Kitman
He's the candidate of the year

O' these are the time for Kitman
raise your voice and sing along
Though there are no rhy-mes for Kitman
every candidate needs a song

America needs another Lincoln
and no one else but Kitman can do more,
for Marvin's running on the party platform
that Lincoln used in Eighteen sixty-four

Sing a song of Marvin Kitman
Sing it loud and sing it clear
Sing a song of Mar-vin Kitman
He's the candidate of the year!

There's thunder on the right surrounding Barry *
there's thunder in the middle you can hear
But no ones more conservative than Marvin
Marvin Kitman's bringing up the rear.

Sing a song of Marvin Kitman
as he takes his backwards stand
Sing a song of Mar-vin Kitman
The next president of the land

O' Lincoln had a first name that was Jewish
And Barry * has some Jewish blood, it's true
But they can't hold a candle up to Marvin
Marvin Kitman's Jewish through and through

O' these are the time for Kitman
raise your voice and sing along
Though there are no rhy-mes for Kitman
every candidate needs a song

Sing a song of Marvin Kitman
Sing it loud and sing it clear
Sing a song of Mar-vin Kitman
He's the candidate of the year!

*Barry Goldwater- 1964 Republican presidential candidate (He lost too!)
